In this episode of the Smart Community Podcast, my podcast producer Ellen and I return after a year-long break to provide updates on personal and professional changes. We discuss major life events, including Ellen’s maternity leave and my time spent with family following my dear Mum’s passing. I also share my marriage news (twice ;)) and a few other things I’ve been up to in 2024. I talk about starting my PhD on AI-enabled empathetic data storytelling and joining the Homeward Bound leadership program, culminating in a trip to Antarctica in January 2025. We also reflect on the key themes and developments in the smart community space over the past year, including generative AI and data visualisation. We conclude by emphasising the importance of family, health, and the impactful work being done in the smart community sector.
